The outdoor and shooting sports retailer just broke even in the third quarter, reporting $8,000 in net income against a loss of $364,000 a year ago, as revenues inched up 2% to $331,323,000 from $324,261,000, and same-store sales grew 2.2%. Fishing department sales outperformed, comping up 14% in the quarter, followed by Hunting and Shooting (+5% with ammo sales up 2%), and Apparel (+2%). Optics, Electronics, Accessories and Other comped down 10%, along with Camping (-9%), and Footwear (-5%).
