SGMA, NSGA Delay High School Football Rule Implementation
Strong appeals from both organizations succeeded in convincing the National Federation of State High School Associations to postpone implementation of a new standard for football gloves until 2013 with a transition year in 2012 that will result in an estimated $45 million worth of inventory already at retail remaining compliant for the upcoming season. After losing a vote on delaying the new standard last week by 41-7 in the general session, a group that hears appeals agreed by an 8-4 vote to the postponement.
