Retail Imports Forecast to Slow Heading into Holiday
Retail import volumes at U.S. container ports are expected to slow during the remainder of the year, according to the NRF and Hackett Associates, as September’s tally was flat year-over year. The month’s 2.03 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units make it the busiest month of the year, however, and the first time volume reached 2 million TEU since last Oct.
