Reports: Many Eyes Looking at Collective Brands; New Prez at Keds


According to multiple reports, including one on flyonthewall.com, a number of private equity firms and companies in the sporting goods segment are looking at the Payless retail, Saucony and Sperry brand parent. Among the potential suitors named are: KKR, Irving Place Capital and Leonard Green Partners on the equity side, retailers Finish Line and DSW and Wolverine World Wide, Iconix Group and VF Corp. One report today said PSS shares could fetch as much as $27 a share or an 87% premium of the stock’s average price during the last three weeks.
