REI Negotiations Going Nowhere, Union Says


Union officials representing REI workers stepped up their pressure on the outdoor co-op, charging in a press release that REI’s recent declaration of an impasse in negotiations was illegal. Unionized workers voted down a Feb. 4 comprehensive offer from the co-op by an overwhelming 98.5%, resulting in REI’s impasse declaration, which allows it to make personnel changes without union approval.
