Industry imports of athletic footwear, apparel, and equipment increased 3% in the second quarter to $5,812.6 million from $5,649.2 million a year ago, as brands and retailers were whipsawed by the Trump Administration’s tariff threats and delays. After Q1’s pull-forward, both apparel and equipment imports contracted, but footwear momentum accelerated, growing 31% after Q1’s 18% increase. Total sneaker imports reached $1,993.2 million in the quarter, up from $1,521.1 million.
