New Trump Tariffs Target Canada and China
The Trump administration is rolling out the next wave of tariffs as Feb.’s temporary 10% global levy under Section 122 sunsets Friday, announcing new levies on Brazil and Canada. A 25% tariff on most Brazilian imports will take effect Jul. 22, and 50% tariffs on a slate of Canadian goods, including hockey sticks, are set to take effect in 30 days. The Brazilian levies are under Section 301, based on a year-long investigation into unfair trade practices, while Canada is targeted under Section 338 of the 1930 Tariff Act.
