More Tariff Threats as Study Finds Consumers Pay 96%


As the wait for a Supreme Court ruling on current tariff measures continues, Pres. Trump added another wrinkle with a proposed slate of levies against European nations that oppose the U.S. acquisition of Greenland, which triggered an emergency meeting of European leaders over potential retaliation. Trump said an incremental 10% tariff would be added to goods from the U.K., France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, starting Feb. 1, escalating to 25% by Jun. 1 if an agreement is not reached over Greenland.
