Octane Fitness (Q37ci), Precor (9.31) and LifeSpan (TR4000i) are the top-rated elliptical, nonfolding and folding treadmill, respectively, in the latest ranking by Consumer Reports. In the six-page report in the publication’s Feb. 2012 issue, the magazine also ranks the “most satisfying brands” of fitness equipment since 2006 based on responses by Consumer Reports subscribers.

Among ellipticals, the top five brands and their corresponding Reader Score are: Precor (88), LifeFitness (86), Sole (84), NordicTrack (77) and ProForm (71).
