Gross margin was off 100 basis points to 45.9%, pressured by the promotional U.K. retail environment and higher tariffs on the Genesco Brands segment. Operating expenses increased by 4% on marketing investments and higher incentive compensation, but leveraged 140 b.p. to 39.1% of sales.
