Net income rose 5% to $109,863,000 from $103,513,000 in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31. Final period revenues improved 5% to $983,745,000 from 934,411,000. Merchandise sales grew 4% to $903.9 million and comps grew 1.7% on strength in firearms, shooting sports and optics in brick-and-mortar space. Challenging retail segments in Q4 included archery, footwear and men’s apparel. Still, CAB management says its quick reaction to warm winter trends means the retailer “will face little to no margin risk in Q1 related to the liquidation of cold weather gear.”
