Backcountry Sells Bergfreunde to Decathlon
The outdoor gear and apparel retailer has reached an agreement to sell its European e-tail subsidiary, Bergfreunde, to the globe’s largest sporting goods dealer, which operates over 1,700 stores in more than 70 countries. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Bergfreunde was founded in Germany in 2006 and operates its e-commerce platform in 11 European countries.
