The federal lawsuit, filed in Houston on Jan. 27, centers on the plights of 109 Vietnamese laborers, most described as poor and uneducated in the complaint, who were allegedly lured to Jordan to help produce school apparel for uniform maker Aramark and BCG branded clothing, which is sold exclusively across the Academy Sports + Outdoors chain. The group was promised $300 monthly, $220 plus an additional $80, to sew clothing in Jordan, according to the complaint.
Academy and Aramark did not return calls seeking comment.
