Post-pandemic recovery for team sports took another step forward in 2022 as the number of participants ticked up 4% to 70.8 million over 2021’s 68.3 million to equal the peak year of the last decade, 2019, according to findings in SFIA’s 2023 U.S. Trends in Team Sports Report. The path forward for core participation remains less clear, however.
