Citing the pending GOB sales of Gander Mountain and a thinly veiled reference to Under Armour’s opening of Kohl’s, Dick’s lowered its comp sales guidance for the FY to a 1-3% increase from earlier guidance of a 2-3% increase as it reported net income of $58,195,000, up 3% from $56,877,000 for the 13 weeks ended Apr. 29 on a 10% increase in revenue to $1,825,252,000 from $1,660,343,000. Net loss was £3,769,000 ($4.7 million) against income of £13,761,000 in the third fiscal quarter ended Mar 31 on 3% higher sales of £127,197,000 ($157.6 million) from £123,444,000 as operating expenses jumped 27% attributed to higher employee benefit costs, revenue share and foreign exchange. Japan’s Globeride and Goldwin Post Profit Gains
Globeride comprehensive net income jumped to ¥2,365 million ($21.7 million) from ¥859 million benefitting from a ¥1 billion positive swing in comprehensive items, but revenues were flat at ¥79,142 million ($727.4 million) from ¥79,026 for the fiscal year ended Mar. 31.
