Pleased by a 33% gain in Champion sales that is said to be taking share from Adidas and others as it becomes a strong number three in the market, Hanesbrands saw net income rise 36% to $162,154,000 from $118,944,000 for the quarter ended Oct. 3 on a 14% increase in sales to$1,591,038,000 compared to $1,400,728,000. This year’s results including one-time charges mostly related to acquisitions of $42.8 million compared to $63.1 million last year. Excluding one-time charges, operating profit margins were up 30 b.p. to 15.8%.
