Exxel Outdoors Acquires American Recreation, May Produce More U.S.-Made Gear
The parent of the Kelty, Sierra Design, Slumberjack, Wenzel brands among others, owned by Kellwood Company since 1988, has been sold to Boulder, CO-based Exxel Outdoors. Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed. Kellwood was purchased by Sun Capital in Feb. 2008 for $767 million.
