Coronavirus Cases Soar to 60,000 on New Diagnosis Protocol
Just a day after saying that the number of cases appeared to be peaking, China said that doctors using lung scans have confirmed 60,000 cases of the coronavirus now, including nearly 15,000 in Hubei Province or a nine-fold increase over the day before. Even though most of those cases were retroactively reclassified, the new data underscores the difficulty of predicting when the epidemic will run its course and injects more uncertainty into the impact it will have on retail sales in China and the global supply chain.
