San Francisco-based Hydra Ventures was formed with the intention of developing new consumer brands and technologies in the footwear, apparel and sports-related businesses. It is basically formed as a venture capital fund but has the full backing of Adidas. Besides Adidas CEO Herbert Hainer and Adidas CFO Robin Stalker, the board includes Duncan Fitzwilliams, an experienced venture capital manager; Toby Hoare, CEO of JWT Europe.
