With New Concessions, Payless Will Close Fewer Stores
The second list of store closings by the bankrupt chain has been whittled to 216 from an original list of 408 that it said would close. These are in addition to the first group of 389 stores that were in the initial group of stores to close and are already in the process of being liquidated. Payless said it put all 408 stores on the list, hoping to extract further concessions from landlords.
