Vendor Executive Compensation Increased 5% in 2016


Total compensation of the top 121 executives of public sporting goods companies was $376,187,029 in 2016, with comparable pay for those execs in their position at least a year gaining 5% following a decline of 28% in 2015. Mean compensation was $3,108,984 in 2016 against $2,969,883 in 2015. Comparable CEO pay slipped 5% to a mean of $5,665,571, but the percentage decline was entirely due to Mark Parker’s bodacious package in 2015 when he ascended to the top post at Nike.
