U.S. Escalates China Trade Tensions with Threat of Tariffs on $200 Billion


As China prepares to retaliate against the Trump Administration’s pending implementation of 25% tariffs on Chinese imports with similar measures against $50 billion in U.S. imports, the U.S. is now upping the ante with an announcement by the President that he has directed the US Trade Representative to identify an additional $200 billion in Chinese imports for 10% tariffs. “China apparently has no intention of changing its unfair practices related to the acquisition of American intellectual property and technology.
