Trump Said to Favor New Tariffs despite Invitation to Negotiate


The Administration wants to move ahead with the second round of tariffs on $200 billion in Chinese products, even as it invites China to resume high level talks aimed at settling the dispute, according to Bloomberg. Earlier in the week, President Trump tweeted that he was in no hurry to make a deal with China on the trade dispute, calculating that he was in a strong negotiating position right now and unwilling to make concessions on his major demands.
