Trump Hints at Gun Law Changes after Survivor Summit


In a 90-minute meeting President Trump held yesterday with school shooting survivors and parents, he mentioned improving and even expanding background checks as well as possibly arming school staff or otherwise beefing up school security. He expressed support for raising the minimum age at which someone could buy an MSR to 21, which is currently the minimum age to buy a handgun. He also talked about a connection between mental illness and violent crime, and advocated for including mental health in background checks.
