Survey: 70% of Spring Footwear Shoppers Wanted Sneakers
Demand for athletic and athleisure shoes was the strongest by far in the FDRA’s Spring 2018 National Shoe Sales Survey, and 74% of respondents said they were very likely or somewhat likely to buy new shoes this spring. While some other sources have seen the shift to e-commerce shopping slowing, the FDRA survey had a huge jump to 35% of shoppers planning to buy online from 23% in 2017. Amazon gained five percentage points to 52% and remained the most popular online shopping destination, with no other digital channel getting more than mid-teens.
