Strong Quarter for American Outdoors Brands But Outlook Downgraded


The lull following the sales surge prior to the Election produced net income of $32,453,000, up 3% from $31,434,000 last year for the third quarter ended Jan. 31 as sales improved 11% to $233,523,000 compared to $210,786,000. The results were ahead of analysts’ expectations, but AOBC noted that softness following the election in NICS checks had carried into the final quarter and it updated guidance for Q4 to a sales range of $200-220 million and GAAP EPS to a range of $0.26-36 ($17.7 mm).
