Skechers Says Consumer Spending is Stable despite Inflation
Skechers continues to track healthy consumer behavior coming out of Back-to-School, with no alarms bells ringing from inventory levels, promotional environment at wholesale partners or recessionary fears, it reported at the Morgan Stanley investor conference. Consumer spending levels during BTS were deemed encouraging in the U.S. and Europe stayed positive despite ticking down sequentially from its strong H1 rebound. Demand trends remained positive in China though sales suffered from ongoing lockdown restrictions.
