Shimano Sales, Net Down in H1


Net income attributable to shareholders declined 18% to ¥17,728 million ($168.7 mm) from ¥22,922 million for the half ended Jun. 30 as sales fell 2% to ¥163,079 million ($1,469.4 mm) from ¥166,428 million. Bicycle component sales were down 3% to ¥129,080 million from ¥132,630 million and segment operating income was down 12% to ¥27,063 million from ¥30,586 million. Meanwhile, fishing tackle inched up 1% to ¥33,799 million from ¥33,601 million while operating income improved 5% to ¥33,601 million while operating income improved 5% to ¥3,831 million from ¥3,659 million.
