Shimano Net Rebounds Despite Lower Sales


Comprehensive net income was ¥5,289 million ($48.1 mm) compared to ¥260 million for the first quarter ended Mar. 31 as sales fell 3% to ¥79,921 million ($726.4 mm) from ¥82,169 million. Cycling component sales decreased 1% to ¥64,674 million and operating income from the segment was off 3% to ¥13,992 million. The fishing tackle division saw sales decline 10% to ¥15,153 million and operating income fall 20% to ¥1,332 million.
