School PE Drives Sports Participation, Study Finds


A strong correlation between physical education in school and adult sports participation was among the findings of the SFIA’s newly released 2017 Sports, Fitness, and Leisure Activities Topline Participation Report. Adult inactivity was just 20.4% for those who had school physical education vs. 37.2% for adults who didn’t have PE. Further, almost twice as many adults who had PE are physically active to a level beyond the basic standard of exercising three times per week.
