Mind Share for Fashion Athletic Strong Among Teens
Teen retailing has been a challenging business for most retailers, but the interest in fashion athletic remains very strong despite the macro-economic challenge of high unemployment in this age group, according to a recent study of the teen market by Piper Jaffray. The mind share, essentially a measurement of popularity of a trend, for fashion athletic has steadily grown from 5% of the teen market in Fall 2008 to a peak of 28% for Spring 2014 before backing off slightly to 26% for Fall 2014.
