SFIA and OIA testified against imposing tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese made goods at a hearing before the U.S. Trade Representative. The proposed tariffs include a number of sporting goods products that would be hit with a 10-25% tariff, such as sport bags, baseball, hockey and ski gloves, backpacks, certain components for fitness equipment, bikes, camp chairs and kayaks. This is the second stage of the Trump Administration’s trade war with China, which has already imposed $50 billion in two stages on non-industry products.
