Industry Groups Want Just Minor Tweaks to NAFTA
Although industry lobbyists say they favor an update to the North American Free Trade Agreement as the Trump Administration is proposing, the specifics of their testimony emphasize the importance of keeping the treaty essentially unchanged, saying that critical elements of their supply chain are built on the present NAFTA so any changes should not undo the underlying basis and they firmly believe the treaty should remain tri-lateral rather than become two bi-lateral deals with Mexico and Canada.
