Holiday Online Spending Grows as Inflation Looms
Adobe’s final findings for online Holiday spending tallied 9% growth over 2020 to $204.5 billion for the Nov. 1 to Dec. 31 period, with a record 38 days topping the $3 billion mark compared to 25 in the prior year. The trend pulled dollars out of Cyber Week (Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday), which ticked down 1%, while Nov. 1 to Thanksgiving jumped up 19%. Nov. 30 to Dec. 31 was up 6%. Total online spending for full year ’21 hit a record $855 billion, also up 9% year-over-year.
