The format envisioned by new parent Camping World will take the size of the Gander Outdoor footprint down to around 40,000 sq. ft. and set up specific shops that will cover its major retail product lines, ranging from Gander hunting products to Overton water sports, The House action sports and Camping World RV accessories. Those stores will de-emphasize apparel and footwear on the theory that those businesses remain vulnerable to Amazon and the like whereas products that are more experiential or need service will be insulated.
