Descente Profit Dips on Higher Sales


Income to shareholders was off 9% to ¥2,440 million ($21.4 mm) against ¥2,678 million for the second quarter ended Sep. 30 on a 5% sales improvement to ¥65,959 million ($578.1 mm) compared to ¥62,528 million. Sales in Japan were up 3% to ¥27,000 million while sales in Korea rose 6% to ¥32,700 million and sales in China were up 2% to ¥4,100 million. Sales in the Europe/Americas region were ¥1,800 million against ¥1,700 million.
