Delta Apparel Has Loss on Tax Charge


The net loss was $9,952,000 in the fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 30 against a loss of $607,000 last year, pulled down by a $10.6 million provisional tax expense charge, as revenues gained 6% to $90,342,000 from $85,335,000, or 19% excluding the divested Junkfood business last year. Excluding the charge for $1.1 million to revalue net deferred tax assets and $9.5 million for tax on repatriated foreign earnings, the bottom line would have been about $600k in the black.
