Camping World Buys Uncle Dan’s Outfitters
Continuing to build out its holdings in the outdoor market, Camping World has acquired the Chicago area four-store chain for an undisclosed amount. As a fairly traditional outdoor specialty store built around brands like The North Face, Patagonia and Keen, it will complement CWH’s other outdoor retail concepts. It recently acquired Cast & Blast chain Gander Mountain from bankruptcy along with its Overton’s fresh water boating business. Later, it acquired TheHouse, an online focused business with an action sports flavor. CWH said the four retail businesses will be part of a major omni-channel push into this market.
