Camping World Buys A Few Gander Stores; Most of Chain To Be Liquidated
The bankruptcy auction did produce a going concern bid of sorts, but the commitment by Camping World was to keep open only 17 of the 160 remaining stores along with the Gander name. The stalking horse bidders, Hilco and Gordon Bros., will conduct GOB sales at all the stores and Camping World said that as many as 70 stores could remain open depending on negotiations with landlords. Camping World will stock to go-forward stores with fresh inventory. The final bid was for $390 million by the liquidators for the inventory.
