Proclaiming its restructuring largely complete, BDE nearly broke even in the fourth quarter, narrowing its loss to $1,389,000 compared to a loss of $20,725,000 last year, as revenues were 6% lower at $41,399,000 vs. $44,076,000 but off just 2% constant currency. Excluding last year’s $29.5 million goodwill impairment charge, discontinued operations and other charges, adjusted net income would be $419,000 in Q4’16 vs. $635,000 last year. For the full year, net loss was $8,978,000 compared to a loss of $77,542,000 on sales that declined 5% to $148,189,000 from $155,266,000 but were flat constant currency.
