Cabela’s said in a release that the extended investigation by the FTC of its proposed merger with Bass Pro has been terminated, clearing what would appear to be the last major obstacle to the deal going through. Evidently, it had signed a timing agreement with the FTC that expired Jul. 3. The merger still must be approved by Cabela’s shareholders, which is expected, and is subject to the closing of the sale of the credit card operation.
