The brain of the former Patriots tight end and convicted murderer, who committed suicide in his prison cell in April at the age of 27, showed evidence of severe chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Hernandez’ fiancée Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez is suing the NFL and the Patriots in MA District Court on behalf of Hernandez’ 4-year-old daughter, accusing the league and the team of withholding information that repeated head impacts could lead to CTE.
