Asics Net Dips on Weak U.S. Results


The comprehensive result was a loss of ¥6,407 million ($58.7 mm) against income of ¥1,324 million for the first quarter ended Mar. 31 as sales declined 7% to ¥104,642 million ($958.9 mm) from ¥113,052 million with domestic sales down 7% to ¥28,625 million and international sales down 7% to ¥76,016 million. Ordinary income was down 47% to ¥7,414 million from ¥14,031 million. The Americas region was down 27% to ¥21,927 million ($200.9 mm) with most of that attributed to the U.S. market.
