The House of Representatives unveiled the America COMPETES Act, its take on the Senate’s U.S. Innovation and Competition Act, which passed that chamber in June. House leaders expect passage by March 1, at which point it will move to conference committee to reconcile the two versions.
Several differences exist in addressing the Generalized System of Preferences, the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill, and, most notably, Section 301 tariff exclusions.
