Adidas Will Close Some Stores to Emphasize Digital Sales
The Big a will be closing selected stores from its fleet of 2,500 units globally over the next few years as part of a DTC strategy that will place more investment on its digital logistical capabilities as well as make more of its stores into showcase stores for the brand, CEO Kasper Rorsted told the Financial Times, calling the website “the most important store we have in the world.” The majority of the €250 million or so in increase in CapEx for 2018 to €900 million will be targeted at the digital channel.
