A Draw for Outdoor Industry in Washington


The good news is that the House approved a Miscellaneous Tariff bill that will reduce or suspend duties on 10 footwear products for the next three years. The legislation had been a priority for OIA and was especially harmful to waterproof breathable boot imports. The bill now heads to the Senate where it is expected to pass before going to the White House. OIA estimated that prior MTBs have saved some $30 million in tariffs.
