WINTER SPORT SALES RISE 13% THROUGH DEC.
Total sales for chain and specialty stores were $1.5billion at retail from the Aug. to Dec. period, up from $1.3 billion, accordingto SIA’s monthly audit. Sales at chain stores rose 17% compared to the prioryear to $347.0 million from $298.0 million. Sales for specialty stores rose 12%compared to the prior year to $1.2 billion from $1.0 billion.
