VANS, RUSSELL REVISE OUTLOOKS DOWNWARD.


Citing the difficult retailenvironment of the past three months, Vans warns Q3 and Q4 results will fallbelow those from a year ago. Q3 EPS guidance is now $.02-$.04, or at least 80%below the current Street average of $.20, on a revenue range of $85-$87 million.In Q2 ended Dec. 1, Vans’ net income was $513,000 against $3,204,000. Revenuesfell 8% to $68,333,000. Sales by segment: retail, down 6% to $23,135,000;national, fell 9% to $26,075,000 and international, dipped 10% to $19,123,000.U.S. sales dropped 8% to $49.2 million.
