TYR ANTI-TRUST SUIT PROCEEDS AGAINST SPEEDO, USA SWIMMING.


Motions by Speedo and USA Swimming to throw out Tyr’santi-trust suit were largely denied by federal court in Central District of CA.Tyr sued both last May, alleging that the actions of USA Swimming coach andSpeedo spokesperson Mark Schubert in getting elite swimmers to use Speedoproducts and discouraging competitors products violated the Sherman Anti-trustAct. Also named as defendants were Schubert and Erik Vendt, a competitor whoallegedly broke his endorsement contract and used Speedo products because ofSchubert’s actions.
