STRIDE RITE Q2 NET RISES 35 PER CENT.


The parent of Keds and Sperry Top-Siderssays another footwear brand is only likely to be added to an existingportfolio if it's through a corporate acquisition. Stride Rite,which currently holds footwear licenses from Tommy Hilfiger,Levi's and Nine West, offered no time frame by whichsuch a move would be made.

As for Q2, Stride Rite's net income rose 35 per centto $9,596,000 from $7,077,000 on only a 1 per cent increase inrevenues to $143,176,000 from $141,604,000. Keds' sales rose 10per cent in the period, including a 13 per cent revenue gain incurrent styles and 32 per cent sales drop in discontinued styles.The company ... Log in to view full article.
